Electricity and magnetism were unified through Maxwell’s equations. Space and time were unified through Einstein’s theory of relativity. Mass and energy were shown to be different manifestations of the same underlying reality. Despite these advances, fundamental questions remain unanswered. Science has not yet fully explained the origin of life, consciousness, intelligence, dark matter, dark energy, or the relationship between animate and inanimate systems.
